Job execution time can be controlled in SAP CPS by the use of the following:

  • Submit frames - Submit frames define when and how often a job should be automatically resubmitted.

  • Time windows - Time windows define in which period of time a job is allowed to start.

  • Time zones - Time zones help define the date and time accurately in large environments with clients and/or process servers split across multiple geographical time zones.

Job definitions, job chains and jobs can have a submit frame, a time window and a time zone. Submit frames can also have a time zone and a time window, time windows can have time windows and a time zone. Complex scheduling can easily be achieved by the use of a combination of submit frames and time windows, the time zone further defines the time window.
