Procedure documentation Modifying a Worklist

Use

You modify the worklist defined by a variable, to achieve one of the following goals:

Example

For example, with a variable for the characteristic "period", you could access one specific period, for which you want to plan, from the predefined list of all the periods of the following fiscal year. Or you decide to choose a specific planning strategy from a predefined selection of different planning strategies (optimistic, conservative, pessimistic), and enter plan data for this.

Prerequisites

Enhancing or reducing the user-specific value list defined for a variable is only possible for variables with the replacement type "User-specific values" for which additionally the indicator Input allowed by user is set in the variable definition.

On the other hand, restricting a variable to a single value is always possible for variables with the replacement types "Fixed values" and "User-specific values".

Procedure

  1. Choose Goto ® Set Variables.

You get to the user-specific maintenance of the variable values. All the variables of all the planning areas, which correspond to the currently set filter criteria (setting the filter criteria is described further below) are listed here. The list is sorted according to the name of the planning areas.

Note

In this area you can only influence the variable values, which are available when executing planning. You make the general definition of variables in the Variables tab page in the context of a planning area.

  1. In the list, search for the variable, which you want to edit and select the row.

Note

If several characteristics are assigned to a variable, the list contains as many rows for the variable as there are characteristics assigned to it. In this case it does not matter, which row you select in order to edit the variable values.

  1. Choose the function that you want to execute:

The system shows a dialog field with the list of values planned for the variable in which you can make different settings according to the variable definition:

The system displays a dialog field in which you can make the desired settings. You can reset the filter with the filter options All Variables and All Planning Areas, now all existing variables are displayed.

  1. Choose Goto ® Planning, to return to the planning environment and execute planning.

Result

You have fulfilled the prerequisite in order to be able to execute all planning functions, which are based on a worklist.
