Access Method L Printing
Print jobs are sent to access method L connected output devices via Operating System (OS) command. On UNIX this is usually the LP or LPR command. The same way the job status is queried from the system. These commands are sent from the spool server the output device has been assigned to. Therefore the commands depend on the OS type of the spool server of the output device.

Requirements
1. Minimum support package levels for Target System(s):
SAP NetWeaver 7.00 Support Package 14
SAP Web AS6.40 Support Package 22
SAP Web AS6.20 Support Package 64
2. The Target System(s) must have at least one spool server with the same OS type as the spool server of the PAL Printer in the Central System.
3. The name of the PAL Printer under which it is known to the OS must be identical with the name in thespool server of the Target System(s) and in the spool server of the Central System. In SPAD the field Host printer contains this name.
4. The command used for submitting a print job and for query of the job status has to equal and to be executable in the Target System(s) and the Central System.

PAL can only assure that it correctly distributes command sets of a PAL Printer using access method L, and checks point 2.
However, PAL cannot verify point 3. and 4. Therefore PAL cannot guarantee that this PAL Printer will work properly in the Target System even after a successful distribution.
