Central Job Scheduling

Purpose

The IT process Central Job Scheduling covers the definition and release of jobs and job chains by a business user.

Use of the Process

Prerequisites

You have set up the standalone engine Job scheduling capabilities of SAP NetWeaver. It is connected by RFC to all AS ABAP in which jobs are to be created and started.

Process Flow

       1.      The business user uses the Redwood Explorer to connect to Job scheduling capabilities of SAP NetWeaver.

       2.      Preconfigured scripts can be used in jobs and job chains. This determines when and in which AS ABAP the jobs are to run.

       3.      Successfully completed jobs and job chains are clearly displayed in the Redwood Explorer. You can display the job log and spool list centrally, meaning that it is no longer necessary to log on to the AS ABAP for this activity.
