Characteristic Characteristic: 0TB_ACIBAN

 

This characteristic specifies the IBAN (International Bank Account Number).

For electronic applications the IBAN consists of up to 34 alphanumeric characters. The length of the IBAN is defined as a constant for each country. For Germany, a standard length of 22 characters, structured as follows, was agreed on:

  • 2-digit country code (for Germany: DE)

  • 2-digit check digit

  • 8-digit bank identification number

  • 10-digit account number (shorter account numbers are extended to 10 digits with leading zeros).
