License Acquisition Contract (Billing
Items)Technical name: 0IPM_DS16
The ODS object License Acquisition Contract (Billing Items) is used to stage all the items relevant for billing (royalties items or billing request items) from the license acquisition contracts (license acquisition contract and service contract).
The ODS object License Acquisition Contract (Billing Items) serves as a preliminary step for staging the license acquisition and service contract data in the downstream data destinations. This ODS object has not been implemented for evaluation purposes in the first instance, but can be used in this way if necessary.
Update from the InfoSource IPM License Acquisition Contract (Billing Items) to the ODS does not allow records that are marked with the Billing Reference Update in the partial CRM BDoc (InfoObject 0CRM_REVUPD), since the delta update takes place using the upstream ODS License Acquisition Contract (Billing Reference Update).
The InfoCubes License Acquisition Contract (Billing Items) and Service Contract (Billing Items) are updated to the master data destination Transaction Item Number for License Acquisition Contract from the ODS object License Acquisition Contract (Billing Items).

The central objective of this ODS object is to provide downstream data targets with the delta update. Since the After Image/Delete (AIMD) delta procedure is used in the DataSources for IPM (and CRM), the Before Image required for the delta update must be provided from the ODS object. The ODS object is therefore mandatory for the data update in the delta mode.
However, if the partial CRM BDoc is used to extract the billing data from the license acquisition contract, it is only possible to create a complete Before Image in connection with the ODS License Acquisition Contract (Billing Reference Update).
When determining the delta, it is important
that the data from the billing items in the license acquisition contracts are
loaded into the ODS License Acquisition Contract (Billing
Items) before the data for the ODS
License Acquisition Contract (Billing Reference
Update). Process chains can be used to control the load
sequence in BW.
