Triggering a Process
This process is used to start a structured, defined, repeatable business process. It runs in the usage type Application Server (AS) and in Enterprise Portal (EP). The business application is the provider of the event required to trigger a process.

This process requires the Universal Worklist to be properly configured.
A process is triggered using the business application. This trigger spawns a workflow. The workflow generates a task and routes this to the appropriate users.

1. An Event triggers a process (AS)
The business application delivers an event to the Application Server; this event triggers the beginning of a structured, pre-defined, repeatable process.
2. The Process generates a task (AS)
The process is initiated and generates a task related to the first defined step in the workflow.
3. The System displays the task/activity in a centralized worklist (EP)
The process determines the best possible candidates to work on the task and displays the task in a centralized worklist. This worklist is rendered to the user in the Enterprise Portal.
In the system, a task has been created that allows detailed task tracking and management for all process participants.
