Transferring Planning Objects into the Production Clients

Use

The delivered sample data is used to fill certain InfoObjects of the SAP Business Content. The planning objects of the planning applications delivered by SEM-BPS are mapped onto these InfoObjects. Since the planning objects are delivered in client 000, you must transfer all necessary planning objects for a certain planning application into your production client using a client copy.

Procedure

       1.      Log onto your SEM System in client 000.

       2.      In the SAP menu, choose Strategic Enterprise Management (or Business Analytics) ® Business Planning and Simulation ® Transport Planning Applications.

       3.      Set the indicator for the planning application whose objects you want to transport. You can select several planning applications.

       4.      Choose whether you want to transport the planning applications in all available languages, or only in the language specified.

       5.      Choose  Program ® Execute.

The system requests that you enter the number of a transport request. However, we recommend that you create a new request (type Customizing request) in which you only include the relevant planning objects.

After you have confirmed your entry, the system creates a transport request with all planning objects that belong to your selection.

       6.      Log off the system.

       7.      Log onto the system in your production client.

       8.      In the SAP menu, choose Tools ® System Administration ® Administration ® Client Administration ® Special Functions ® Copy Transport Request, in order to transfer the objects gathered in the transport request that were created before into the production client.

       9.      Enter the number of the source client (normally always 000) under Source client.

   10.      Enter the number of the request created before under Transport request.

   11.      Set the indicator Incl. tasks for request.

   12.      Choose Client Copy ® Start Immediately, or Client Copy ® Schedule as Background Job to transfer the objects gathered in the request.

Result

As soon as the system has performed the client copy, the planning objects you selected can be found in the production client of your system.
