       1.      If necessary, the data from the external source needs to be transferred to a sequential data file.

       2.      The batch input program reads the sequential file and creates the batch input session.

Within this step, you can specify the user that will later execute the batch input session.

Note

If the batch input session is to be processed as a background task, then the user specified in this step is used for the processing. Otherwise, if dialog mode is used, then the user who is logged on processes the session. In either case, the authorizations apply as they are defined for the user in the SAP System.

       3.      The batch input session is placed in a queue to be processed by the SAP System.

       4.      The batch input session is processed in the SAP System. Sessions are typically set up to be processed automatically, but may also be processed manually.
