Two different types for value mappings exist: single value mapping and multiple value mapping. The type of is defined by the interface developer when creating the value mapping during customizing.

If the Value Mapping is defined as a single value mapping one external value will be mapped to one internal value.

If the Value Mapping is defined as a multiple value mapping up to five external values can be mapped to one internal value. The number of external values is defined by the interface developer.
