Interface Design - Overview 

Use

You use this function to group characteristics and define your own value assignment screen for the characteristic group. When you design an interface, you combine certain characteristics on the value assignment screen in a group. You can then create a separate characteristic screen for this group and arrange the characteristics and characteristic values according to your needs.

Prerequisite

·         The authorization object C_LOVC_DSG must be entered with the appropriate activity in your user master record.

·         In the configuration profile, you have specified a name of an interface design under Confign Initial Screen ® UserInterf. Only then is the function active on the value assignment screen.

The following list shows the options that are available for grouping characteristics and creating an interface design.

Functional Description: A characteristic group can be assigned the pushbutton attribute by the interface design. If the name of the characteristic group starts with CUSTOMER_PUSH­BUTTON_, a CUSTOMER FUNCTION (user-defined function) is processed every time the pushbutton is actuated.

 

Materials only: For the sequence, you can specify that the characteristic group is to be displayed in Sales and Distribution or Engineering only (one sequence per application). You can choose an indicator for Sales and Distribution (sales order and configuration simulation) or for Engineering (order BOM and configuration simulation). If you do not select an indicator, the interface design is valid for both Sales and Distribution and Engineering.

Result

If the characteristic group is summarized, the characteristic is not shown on the general tab page.

You can now display the characteristic group in the selected interface design.
