Text Variables in Request-Based Correspondence  

Prerequisites

You already use Training and Event Management or SAP Learning Solution release pre-LSO 600 and you want to implement request- and role-based correspondence.

Use

You should bear the following points in mind when you use text variables:

• You must register customer text variables in Customizing for request-based correspondence in the Maintenance View for Text Variables (V_LSOCRPTEXTVAR).
• You must assign each text variable a unique name, a description, and a data collection routine in the form of an ABAP class.
• You can store documentation for text variables and set a required indicator to stipulate that certain text variables must be filled before a document in which they are used can be output.
• Specification of the structure in which the text variable is used is important for the documentation.
• Unlike in Training and Event Management, a text variable can have any DDIC type. Fields, structures, and tables are supported.
