Individual Registration Number (CURP)

Due to official decree, the CURP (Individual Registration Number) is considered as the principal instrument for the identification of citizens.

Example

The following example illustrates the generation of the individual registration number for a man, José Ricardo Alamán Perezlópez, born on 21 March 1963, in Mexico City.

On entering the CURP of the employee, the system checks:

  1. If the CURP has been entered correctly. If this is not the case, the system issues an error message.
  2. If the CURP already exists for (an)other employee(s). If this is the case, the system issues an error message.
  3. If the CURP has the correct format. It is considered incomplete if the place of birth has not been entered. If this is not the case, the system issues an error message.
