Creating Payment Items
Payment items are created by payment transactions when payment orders are updated or transferred from the payment transaction system. You can also manually create payment items for internal postings, for example, goodwill postings.
...
1. Choose Account Management à Payment Item à Create.
2. Specify the transaction type, the bank area, and the account number.
3. If the account has the Amount Notice feature enabled and if the transaction type has been flagged as relevant for interest penalty, then you can display the current and future allowances by choosing Extras ® Allowances when you are processing disbursements. Allowances are amounts that the customer can withdraw during the withdrawal period without incurring penalties.
Choose the Interest Penalty button to display the interest penalty incurred for the item. You need to then decide whether or not to post the payment item (you may not post the item for reasons of goodwill towards the customer).
If you do not make the decision here, you are needed to do so when you enter the posting (required by the system).
4. On the item entry screen, specify the value date of the posting and the posting amount. You can also enter payment notes, if required.
5. You then have the following options for further processing:
¡ You can post the item. Depending on the transaction type, the system runs the appropriate checks (such as account, limit, check (PF for banks only), business partner, and locked transaction type). If you have defined a minimum deposit on the account and activated the limit check, the system also checks the minimum deposit when it checks the limits.
¡ If the check fails, you can force the posting and the system excludes all relevant checks.
¡ It is still possible to park the item first, which can then be processed in postprocessing.

Payment items are parked with the corresponding control status if you have set up the (amount-dependent) principle of dual control for the processing of payment items in Customizing for Bank Customer Accounts. You set up dual control for the processing of payment items by choosing Authorization Management ® Amount-Dependent Authorizations ® Maintain Amount Limit/Principle of Dual Control for Payment Item. Dual control applies to the following activities related to payment items:
§ Create and change
§ Post, transfer post, and force post
§ Reverse and return
Another user with appropriate authorization must then release the payment item. To release the payment items, choose Account Management ® Payment Item ® Release. The system lists all the items that have not yet been released. Go to the detail view and choose Release.
