Assigning Meters to Business Locations
Use
You assign sales meters to capture sales flow data relating to sales of materials sold at a location. Depending on the access profile that you assign to the location, you can define meters for materials or for material and service type combinations.
Sales meter data can be used for:
Prerequisites
In the business location master record you must have assigned a material handling group that includes the material for which the meter is being defined. For more information, see

The Change Business Location: Initial Screen appears
The Change Business Location: Meter / Material screen appears.
If no meters have been assigned to the location yet, you have to enter:
In Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream), you define access profiles by choosing SSR (Service Station Retailing)

If one or more meters have been assigned, the access profile cannot be changed unless you first delete those assignments.
The standard service type is used by the system as the default whenever a service type is required for processing but is not specified in the interface.
Choose Enter.
The Meter type dialog box appears.
The Create Meter Characteristics - Basic Data screen appears.
The Change Business Location: Meter / Material screen appears.
The meter that you just defined appears in the meter list.
The Change Business Location: Initial Screen appears. A message confirms that the business location master record has been changed.
