Account Group Hierarchy
The account group hierarchy represents the hierarchical relationships between account groups in a chart of accounts.
You specify in the account group hierarchy which account groups of a given chart of accounts are particularly significant for the corporate group. You enter the processes that have an impact on the most significant account groups in the central process catalog.
The account group hierarchy is set up by the power user or by the person assigned to the role containing the task Edit Account Group Hierarchy (EDIT-ACCH).
When documenting the organizational units within the project scope, you can then enter threshold values for the account groups in the hierarchy The threshold values can then be used to determine whether an organizational unit falls within the project scope.
You can store multiple account group hierarchies in parallel for different charts of accounts. For the top node of a hierarchy, you specify the chart of accounts as an attribute. This chart of accounts then applies automatically for all subordinate account groups in the hierarchy.
You can enter the following attributes for each account group:
· The significance of the account group for the corporate group (including the reasoning)
· The accounts contained in the account group
· The financial statement assertions that are relevant for the account group. You can choose from all values created under Edit Attribute Values in Customizing.
All assignments defined in the account group hierarchy and all attributes are time-dependent, which means that you can trace changes over time.
