Creating Business Location Master
Records
You must have created at least one business location type in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream). You do this by choosing SSR ® Business Location Master Data ® Business Location Type ® Define business location type with screen configuration.
...
1. Choose Logistics ® Sales and Distribution ® Service Station Retailing ® Master data ® Location ® Create.
The Create Business Location: Initial Screen appears.
2. Enter the Location type:
· If the business location type entered has been configured to support internal numbering only, choose Create. The system automatically assigns a number for the business location when you save.
· If the business location type has been configured to support external numbering only, enter a location ID of your own choice and then choose Create.
· It is also possible to configure the business location type to support both internal and external numbering. In this case the system only allocates a number if you leave the Location ID field blank. For more information about internal and external numbering in the SAP system, see Number Ranges
· If you are creating a competitor location that you want to assign to one or more of your own locations, you must choose a location type created for this purpose. When defining a business location type for competitor locations in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream), you must set the Competitor indicator.
Do not enter a business type at this stage, as the location must be defined at the general level before data specific to a business type can be entered.

If a business location master record with similar data already exists, you can enter its location ID in the Business location field of the Reference business location data section. This reduces the effort required to create the new master record by allowing you to use characteristic location data stored for an existing location. Data elements that belong to structures linked to the business location master data record, such as the address fields, object links and business partner role assignments are not copied by this reference procedure.
3. After you have chosen Create, the Create Business Location: Address screen appears. Enter the address data:
· Location name
· Postal code
· City
· Country
· Enter a name in one or both Search terms fields. You can use these to assist you to retrieve the business location master record using a matchcode.
3. Use the tabstrip control to display further data screens and enter the required data. For more information, see Master Data at the Business Location Type Level.
4. Choose Save. The Create Business Location: Initial Screen appears and a message confirms that the business location has been created.
5. If you wish to enter data specific to a business type, enter a business type and choose Enter. Choose the relevant screens and enter and save the required data.

During the create phase it is not possible to maintain classification data for the business location. You have to save the business location master record and then maintain the classification allocations in change mode.
