The InfoCube is filled from the BW master data 0EMPLOYEE and 0PERSON.

InfoSets have been available since BW Release 3.0A. An InfoSet for the master data 0EMPLOYEE and 0PERSON delivers the same information as the InfoCube, and provides a greater scope of functions.
