Process documentation Transfer of Warehouse Stocks: Process Flow  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

The following process can be used to transfer warehouse stocks from a legacy system into the SAP system.

In practice, there are various situations that occur that can influence your use of the data transfer program. For this reason, see the Examples for the different implementation options.

Process Flow

Warehouse stocks from the legacy system are converted into a sequential data transfer file and then transferred to the SAP system using the SAP data transfer program RLBEST00. The data transfer file is the prerequisite for successfully transferring data as it contains the data in a converted format that is suitable for the SAP system.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

You transfer warehouse stocks as follows:

...

       1.      Identifying Relevant Fields

It is advisable to create a warehouse stock in the SAP system if you want to check the fields in the SAP system. You create warehouse stock using transaction LT01. For more information, see the section Transfer Orders without Reference to a Source Document.

       2.      Analyzing the Transfer Structure

There is only one structure (RLBES) for warehouse stocks, which must be filled. For warehouse stocks there are specific Structuring Rules that you must follow when converting the data.

       3.      Creating a Sample Data Transfer File

       4.      Testing the Data Transfer Program

There are other Additional Programs that you should consider for testing the data transfer.

       5.      Analyzing the Legacy Data

If your legacy system is an R/2 system, before you run the transfer program you must first run other programs, such as programs that convert the R/2 data into the same format as the transfer file. Only after you have run these programs are you able to run the transfer program RLBEST00. In this case, you skip steps 6 and 7. For more information on data transfer from an R/2 system, see the section Examples under case 5.

       6.      Assigning Fields

       7.      Write a Conversion Program

Note the Object-Specific Structuring Rules.

       8.      Preparing the Legacy System

       9.      Testing the Data Transfer

   10.      Executing the Data Transfer

On the following data screen you have three options for creating the warehouse stocks in the system:

¡        You create a batch input session with the session name CREATE_LQUA from the created data transfer file (RLBES format). You then run the session.

¡        You transfer the warehouse stocks online (call transaction).

¡        You transfer the data from the data transfer file, which was created using PC connection.

The system issues a log containing the list of the stocks read in, and the corresponding destination storage types and bins.

Result

The warehouse stocks are transferred into the SAP system.
