Headcount and Personnel
Actions
Technical Name: 0PA_C01
The Headcount and Personnel Actions InfoCube (0PA_C01) contains all of the transaction data on headcount and personnel actions that has been uploaded from the source system(s). The data in this InfoCube is extracted from the Employee (0HR_PA_0) and Personnel Actions (0HR_PA_1) InfoSources.
The Employee InfoSource delivers all employee data per month. Update rules, however, are used to read characteristics and key figures for the end of the period (in this case, the end of the month). Example: If several cost center changes have occurred within one month, the cost center that is valid at the end of the month is updated.

You can use the InfoSet technology for HR Master Data (characteristics 0EMPLOYEE and 0PERSON) to perform headcount reports for a specific day. For further information about InfoSet technology, see the documentation on the SAP Business Information Warehouse (at http://help.sap.com ® SAP NetWeaver ® SAP Business Information Warehouse ® Release SAP BW 3.2 Content under Business Information Warehouse ®Administrator Workbench ® Modeling ® InfoProviders ® InfoSet).
The InfoCube includes the following general key figures: Number of Employees (0HDCNT_LAST), Number of Personnel Actions (0ACTION_CNT), and Headcount FTE (0HDCNT_FTE). The standard system also includes restricted key figures which only take specific personnel action types (such as Hiring, Leaving) into account, for example, or which show entries or leavers FTE, or which show the number of full-time and part-time staff. The system includes the following time dimensions for evaluations: "Calendar Day", "Calendar Year/Month", "Calendar Year/Quarter", and "Calendar Year".
You can evaluate these key figures according to various attributes, for example:
· Personal data (such as nationality, gender, and language)
· Organizational data (such as personnel area, employee group, and organizational unit)
Several structures containing key figures and/or specific calculation rules are provided with the InfoCube. These structures provide you with quick and easy access to frequently required evaluations, such as to determine the leaving rate, or to compare the headcount of the current and previous years (with absolute and percentage differences).

The Age Range (0AGE_RANGE) and Age in Years (0AGE) characteristics are calculated characteristics.
· The Age Range characteristic contains an employee's age based on date of birth and the period from the appropriate InfoSource. The ranges are already determined by the update rules.
Note that you must manually create the texts for this characteristic as follows:

· The Age in Years characteristic contains an employee's age at the end of a period. You can define an age hierarchy according to the specific requirements of your enterprise, and then display the age structure of your enterprise, for example. To enable you to perform age-based calculations, the system includes the 0AGE_KYF key figure.
The age characteristics are calculated using update rules at the end of a period. The period depends on the InfoSource from which it is taken. For example, the end of the period can be at the end of a calendar day or month.
A person can have multiple assignments as an employee. To make a distinction between employment relationships (employees = 0EMPLOYEE) and real people (0PERSON), the person is an attribute of the employee.
If hierarchies exist for the Organizational Unit (0ORGUNIT) and Master Cost Center (0MAST_CCTR) InfoObjects, you can activate them using the Properties function. This allows you to depict hierarchical, multi-level aggregations.
In the update rules, numerous fields are read from the master data tables at the end of the period (usually the last day of the month) and written to the InfoCube as characteristics. For this reason, it is necessary that the master data is loaded and activated before the InfoSources.

Restricted key figures are derived from InfoCube key figures by filtering one or more InfoCube characteristics. This results, for example, in the Number of Entries (0R_PA_001) and Number of Leavers (0R_PA_002) restricted key figures.
