1. In the Insertable Objects area, select the object you want to insert. The templates for programs, breakpoints, and wait points are available.
2. Click on the display area.
This takes you to the Change Step <number> dialog box.
3. Enter the required data.
Depending on the object you want to insert, note the following:
¡ Program
§ Program category
If you need an additional program category, you can create it in Maintenance of Process Models. To do so, choose the following menu path on the initial Maintenance of Process Models screen: Goto ® Program Categories.
§ Variant
You can select an existing variant or create a new one. To create a new variant, enter a name in the Variant field and choose Enter.

In the variant, you must not select a search help (for example, Payroll Correction Run (Matchcode W)).
§ Size of Set
This option is only available for programs that process personnel numbers. The size of set option enables you to distribute personnel number processing to several background jobs. This means that you determine the maximum number of personnel numbers to be processed by the system in each background job. The system uses this entry to determine the number of background jobs it needs to create for the process.
To improve performance, we recommend that you select the size of the set so that more background jobs are created than the number of central processing units (CPUs) that are available. The CPUs with a lighter workload can then process several background jobs while the CPUs with a heavier workload process just one background job each.
§ Server Group Name
If servers have been created in your system in the background processing system of the Computing Center Management System (CCMS), you can execute the process step on one of these server groups. If you start a process that is based on this process model, the system selects an available server from the server group and uses it to execute the program. If you use the size of set option to distribute personnel number processing to several background jobs, the system uses all of the available servers in the server group for these background jobs.
To create server groups, select the following menu path from the SAP Easy Access screen: Tools ® CCMS ® Jobs ® Background Objects. Then choose Job-Server Groups.
¡ Breakpoint
See Breakpoint.
¡ Wait Point
See Wait Point.
4. Choose Continue.
The new process step is displayed separately in the display area.
5. To include the process step in the process model, choose Connect. Click on the process step after which you want to insert the new process step, keep the mouse key pressed down, and draw a link to the new process step.
6. To exit the Connect function, click on a blank area within the display area.
You have inserted a program, breakpoint, or wait point in your process model. If you want to change the characteristics of the inserted process step, double-click on the step to access the Change Step <number> dialog box again.
