Distribution of Liabilities
According to Expenses
The distribution of liabilities according to expenses is the complete solution within the posting transfer. You have more options for distributing liabilities here than with Posting to Master Account Assignment.
The system uses the payroll table CODIST for the distribution of liabilities, which contains information about the distribution of the payments (in percentage terms) to the individual entities. The liabilities are distributed using the entries in this table.
If the liabilities do not have an entry in the CODIST payroll table (and so are not distributed), they are posted completely to the master cost center with this solution.
You have chosen Distribution of Liabilities According to Expenses as the type of cost distribution. You make this setting in Customizing for Payroll under Reporting for Posting Payroll Results to Accounting ® New General Ledger: Distribution of Liabilities According to Expenses ® Central Settings ® Define Type of Distribution.
An employee receives the following payments:
Wage Type |
Amount |
Segment |
M010 |
$ 800 |
1 |
M020 |
$ 200 |
2 |
The CODIST payroll table contains the following entries:
Wage Type |
Amount |
Segment |
M010 |
80 % |
1 |
M020 |
20 % |

In posting, all these payments are posted according to expenses, which means that they are distributed to the respective segments. The system determines the relevant proportions from the CODIST payroll table:
