Components

To implement the Business Package for Employee Self-Service, you must install the following software components as outlined in the Installation Guide:

·        SAP NetWeaver 2004s with Portal

For more information about SAPNetWeaver 2004s, see the documentation for the SAPNetWeaver Application Server. You can find this documentation at help.sap.com ® Documentation ® SAP NetWeaver.

·        Portal

ESS applications run in SAP Enterprise Portal. For general information about the portal and specific information about how to set it up, see the Internet at help.sap.com ® Documentation ® SAP NetWeaver ® Portal Content.

 Note

The J2EE Engine, a runtime system for J2EE compatible applications, is part of SAP NetWeaver. The portal and the J2EE Engine must be run on the same server.

·        Web Dynpro Development Components PCUI_GP and ESS.

·        SAP ERP Core Components (SAP ECC) 6.0 with the following extensions:

¡        Human Resources Extension (EA-HR)

¡        Financials Extension (EA-FIN)

·        System Landscape Directory (SLD)

You must install and configure the System Landscape Directory (SLD). The SLD is part of SAP NetWeaver.

·        Internet Graphics Server (IGS)

If you want to set up an Internet Graphics Server (IGS), you must use the Visual Administrator. For more information, see SAP Notes 704604 and 454042.

·        Adobe Document Services (ADS)

If you want to implement PDF-based forms in Employee Self-Service applications, you need Adobe Document Services. This enables you to integrate interactive forms in your applications. For example, you can integrate interactive forms in applications from the Corporate Information area. For more information, see Adobe Document Services and Interactive Forms Based on Adobe Software.

·        Guided Procedures (GP)

If you want to use applications from the Life and Work Events area, you have to use and configure Guided Procedures. For general information about Guided Procedures, see CAF Guided Procedures. For information about using Guided Procedures within Employee Self-Service, see Configuration of Guided Procedures. For an overview of the applications contained in this area in the standard system, see Life and Work Events.

Security

Single Sign-On
