Assessment and Test
Use
You perform assessments and tests to enable management to identify any potential issues in the internal controls and to ensure that these issues are successfully resolved.
The assessment is used by the control owner to provide his/her own evaluation of the control and to trigger an improvement process where necessary.
The test allows external bodies, such as higher management or internal auditors, to evaluate a control.
Prerequisites
· The power user has made the settings in Customizing for MIC under Assessment and Test.
· The process has been accepted and the controls have been documented (see Documenting Controls).
· Management controls have been accepted (see Accepting Management Controls).
· Each task has been scheduled (see Task Scheduling).

The result of an assessment or test is expressed as a rating. Ratings have three levels, symbolized by the traffic light colors red, yellow, and green. You can specify names for these three levels in Customizing.
