Communication Channel Security
Communication channels transfer a wide variety of different business data that needs to be protected from unauthorized access. SAP makes general recommendations and provides technology for the protection of your system landscape based on SAP NetWeaver.
The table below shows the communication paths used by SAP ERP Central Component, the protocol used for the connection, and the type of data transferred.

DIAG and RFC connections can be protected using Secure
Network Communications (SNC). HTTP connections are protected using the
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.
