Posting Period and Posting Date
The system usually determines the posting date from the current payroll period. As a result, retroactive accounting runs are also posted with the posting date that originates from the current payroll period.
Posting to Special Periods is an exception to this rule.The Accounting components determine the posting period that is posted to, from the posting date.

In some countries, payroll periods and posting periods can have different lengths. If the start and finish of a payroll period are in different posting periods for a weekly payroll run, it is necessary to distribute the expense from this payroll period (proportionally) to two posting periods. In some countries, this is possible with the help of the
Month-End Accruals function.
