Classifying Business Locations
Use
You classify business locations so that you can use the classification system to search for them. For more information, see
The Classification System.
Procedure
The following example describes how to use the transaction for changing business locations to classify a business location. For information on classifying an object using the assignment function in the classification system, see
Assigning an Object to Classes. To classify a business location, proceed as follows:
A detail screen within the change business location transaction appears.
The Change Business Location: Classification screen appears. This screen shows any existing allocations of a class to the business location. The class must belong to class type 800, the business location class type.
The screen for creating, changing and deleting allocations appears. You can allocate one or more classes to the business location.
You see a list of the characteristics for the class. To see the values allowed for a characteristic, place the cursor on the characteristic and display the possible entries.
Assign values to the characteristics, either by entering a value manually or by selecting a value with the cursor.
For more information on assigning values to characteristics, see
Entering Values.
Classification data is saved when you save the business location master record.

It is necessary to create the business location master record in the system before allocations to a business location class can be made. It is therefore possible to access the classification screen in change or display mode, but not in the create mode of the maintenance transaction for business location master data.
