Function documentation Executing Processes  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to execute several programs in the system, one after the other or in parallel in the background. To do so, use the HR Process Workbench.

Integration

You execute processes on the basis of process models, which you create using the Maintenance of Process Models function.

Prerequisites

You have set up a Workflow User in Customizing of the SAP NetWeaver under SAP Web Application Server ® SAP Business Workflow ® Maintain Standard Settings and a RFC Destination for the Workflow.

Features

The HR Process Workbench provides an overview of processes in your system. It displays the following information on each process:

·        Process steps included in the process

·        Runs you have executed for a process step

·        Personnel number sets processed in a run

The HR Process Workbench enables you to:

·        Create processes on the basis of a specific process model

·        Execute processes immediately

·        Schedule processes for later or depending on an event that occurs in the system

·        Execute processes or individual process steps again

·        Use e-mails or pagers to inform specific persons during the process run that a process step has been executed or has reached a particular status

·        Check the execution of processes, and correct errors if necessary

·        Conclude and then delete processes

Activities

To call the function from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Human Resources ® Payroll <country> ® Tools ® HR Process Workbench.

Recommendation

If many processes are available in your system, calling HR Process Workbench can take a while. To improve system performance, we recommend you take the following actions:

·         Restrict the view of the processes, for example, according to the date. Choose Process Overview  ® Set Filter

·         Regularly delete completed processes

Note

In the standard system, the system does not automatically update the processes displayed in the HR Process Workbench after you make changes. You must update the display screen yourself. To do so, choose Refresh.

If you want the system to update the processes that are displayed automatically, choose Utilities ® Automatic Refresh Off. This changes the menu entry to Automatic Refresh On and the system updates the display screen as soon as the status of a process or process step changes.
