Creation of Material Documents from Meter
Readings
This function allows you to update stock levels in Inventory Management by using meter reading data to create goods movements.
In Customizing for Industry Solution for Oil & Gas (Downstream), you must have:
· Defined logistics document schemas and assigned them to location indicators and processes by choosing:
¡ SSR ® Fuels Processing ® Logistics Document Creation ® Logistics document schema ® Define document schema
¡ SSR ® Fuels Processing ® Logistics Document Creation ® Logistics document schema ® Assign document schema
· Assigned location indicators to processing profiles by choosing SSR ® Basic Settings ® Define processing profile
In the business location master record, you must define the plant and storage location for which you want to update the stock.
You define storage locations for individual storage objects (for more information, see Creating Storage Object Characteristics for Business Locations) and the business location at business type and general levels (for more information, see Object Links).
The definition at the least general level is always used so any storage object definitions override general definitions.
If you need to define storage locations for bill of material fuels, you must create a virtual storage object and assign this to the storage objects for the item materials and also to the relevant meter. If you then assign a storage location only to the virtual tank, this definition is used for updating the book stock of the item materials. Alternatively, you can define individual storage locations for the item materials.
To create goods movements from meter readings, choose Logistics ® Sales and Distribution ® Service Station Retailing ® Bulk material handling ® Material documents ® Create for meter readings.
You can use job
control to invoice partners automatically. For more information, see

Jobs.
The system uses the process ID and the processing profile assigned to each location to identify the correct parameters for document creation.
After the document creation process has finished for all selected locations, a statistic is written to the screen. It gives the total number of:
· Successfully processed locations
· Partially processed locations (if the aggregation procedure determines that several documents can be created for one location, it is possible that only some documents are processed successfully).
· Unsuccessfully processed locations. If one or more locations are not processed successfully, you can double-click the red statistics line to display the application log. This displays detailed error information.
