Use

When a processor of tasks in MIC takes on different tasks, moves to a different position, or leaves the company, all or just some of the tasks assigned to that person can be transferred automatically to that person’s replacement.

Prerequisites

·        You have performed the IMG activity Transfer Work Items to Replacement in Customizing for MIC under Workflow.

·        To be able to enter replacements in the system, you need authorization for the task Assign Replacement at Corporate Level (ASGN-REPLC) or Assign Replacement at Org Unit Level (ASGN-REPLO).

Features

You enter the replacement information specifically for the combination of person, role, and object. With the task Assign Replacement at Corporate Level, you only have access to objects at the corporate level. With the task Assign Replacement at Org Unit Level, you have access to all objects at the organizational unit level and below.

You start the tasks on the navigation area using the entries Replacement Assignment at Corporate Level or Replacement Assignment at Org Unit Level. Both of these entries call the same Web application Assignment of Replacements. When working in this application, you can enter replacements for more than one person. During editing, these persons appear in the upper part of the details area so that you can switch between them.

Note

Note that it is not possible to enter a replacement in the following cases:

·         When you assign a replacement for yourself, you may not change those entries that lead to your being allowed to assign a replacement.

·         You may not enter a replacement for persons who also have authorization for the selected object to assign replacements. This can be the case when more than one role contains the task for assigning replacements.

Since it is not possible to act as the replacement for oneself, the following rules apply for the assignment of replacements:

·        Replacements for the person with authorization for the task Assign Replacement at Org Unit Level (ASGN-REPLO) may only be assigned by the person with authorization for the task Assign Replacement at Corporate Level (ASGN-REPLC). The prerequisite for this is that the persons are not identical.

·        Replacements for the person with authorization for the task Assign Replacement at Corporate Level (ASGN-REPLC) may only be assigned by the power user.

When you enter a replacement, the Transfer Tasks indicator is already set by default. This means that, on the day that the replacement takes effect, any existing tasks are deleted from the worklist of the replaced person and transferred to the worklist of that person’s replacement. The earliest that a replacement can take effect is the next day.

Power users can display the replacements stored in the system by choosing Workflow ® Administration Programs for MIC Workflows ® Replacement Information in the Implementation Guide for MIC.
