Delegation
When a person with tasks in MIC takes time off work due to sickness/vacation and for these or other reasons wants to allow another person to perform their tasks for them, they can enter one or more delegates in the system. Delegation can be entered for any period of time.
A person can assign their own delegates. Alternatively, delegates can be assigned centrally for all users by the internal controls manager, for example.
You have authorization for the task Assign Delegates Centrally (ASGN-DELC) or Assign Own Delegates (ASGN-DELO).
The delegate acquires the same authorizations as the main person for whom the delegation has been made. This means that, when acting as delegate, the delegate sees the task list belonging to the main person. Delegation, therefore, relates to persons and not to roles.
Both the main person and the delegate can work concurrently on the same task list but not on the same task. When one person is editing a task, that task is locked for the other person.
During delegate assignment, you enter the main person, the delegate, and the validity period for the delegation. When you assign your own delegates, your own user is entered automatically as the main person.
If you have been entered as a delegate by another user, you can choose in the personalization settings whether you are working in MIC on your own behalf or on behalf of the person for whom you are acting as delegate.
