Example: Finding Additional Stock
You are accessing your requirements in the ARun Optimizer. One of your orders is for 100 white T‑shirts in size XL. Only 40 are allocated to the order, which is not enough to satisfy the release requirements. You select the material and choose Goto ® Stock. The system displays the various types of stock that can be viewed.
The resulting dialog box depends on the menu option you chose. The first one is Own Stock (CSR and private) and it shows the quantity currently in CSR stock. This stock is freely available to fill orders and is not reserved for other assignments.
You see there are 30 T‑shirts in CSR stock. You allocate these 30 to your order, which brings the total up to 70 T‑shirts. You next check the Own Assignments, where you see that you have already allocated 90 T‑shirts to your other orders. At this point, you can decide whether this order has a higher priority than your other orders, in which case you can exit the dialog box and reallocate stock from your other orders to this one.
Alternatively, you can check Free Available Stock to see if there is stock in inventory. You find 10 more T‑shirts. You can then exit the dialog box and use the stock management transaction to move these 10 from unrestricted stock and place it into CSR stock. This brings you up to 80. You still need an additional 20.
You next select Other CSR Stock. Here you find that CSR Mary has assigned 213 T‑shirts to her orders, and CSR Eduardo has assigned 87 to his orders. You talk to Mary and see whether she is willing to let you have some of her stock. She agrees. She deallocates 20 T‑shirts and moves them back into CSR stock (or into unrestricted stock, depending on Customizing settings). You can now take this 20 and allocate them to your order. This now brings you up to a total of 100 T‑shirts, thus fulfilling the order.
