If you have activated the two-level rounding, the MRP will use this function during the lot-sizing procedure. That means that the system first rounds at SKU level and then rounds at material level.

Make sure that there is a material rounding value in the material master.

To activate two-level rounding, you must make the following settings in the material master on the tab page AFS MRP:

1. Enter the SKU rounding value.



Note that the rounding value at SKU level is the same for all SKUs. The material rounding value must be a multiple of the SKU rounding value.

If you have maintained the maximum lot size, the stock proposal will not be greater than the maximum lot size. For optimal rounding results, we recommend that the maximum lot size be a multiple of the SKU rounding value.

2. Set the indicator for two-level rounding.

The MRP does the following with two-level rounding during the lot-size calculation:

First, it calculates the stock proposal according to the requirements in the current period. If the period is moved during this time, the lot-size calculation will determine the total quantity by

• rounding up to the next highest value
• raising the stock quantity in order to reach the minimum lot size
• considering the maximum lot size

The total additional quantity is distributed among the SKUs (either equally or according to the distribution profile in the material master). After the distribution, a new rounding takes place at SKU level in which the rounding difference is not calculated.

This process continues until all the SKUs are planned that are required for the completion of the rounding at material level.
