Requirements Grouping 
You can group different individual requirements in individual allocation groups. The formation of allocation groups is the prerequisite for using allocation logic other than the FIFO logic. You can additionally assign release rules to the individual groups and you can sort by allocation groups within the requirements sorting. You can form groups using general criteria or form them customer-specifically.
Using the requirements grouping you can filter individual requirements out of the population and combine them so that you can handle them separately in the allocation run.
You can use a grouping rule to determine which standards the system must use to form the individual allocation groups. This means, that each requirement will be assigned to one allocation group. You can form any number of requirements groups. You can assign individual release rules and allocation logics to individual groups or you can carry out the assignment for all groups according to the rules of the allocation type.
You can define a grouping rule in Customizing of the allocation run and maintain the rule in the corresponding allocation type.
You can select individual grouping rules for the requirements of certain customers. This is an enhancement of the general requirements grouping. You cannot exclusively use the customer-specific grouping.
In addition to the general requirements grouping, you must define a grouping strategy and enter it in the customer master of the respective customer. By using a determination rule, you control which grouping rules are assigned to the grouping strategy.
The function of the requirements grouping is optional. When configuring the allocation run you should make sure it is really necessary to form allocation groups because this might affect the runtime.
