Function documentation Partial Conversion of AFS Planned Orders Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to partially convert an AFS planned order to one or more production order(s), with an option to retain the planned order with accordingly reduced quantities.

The planner can use this function to:

Convert the planned order from the stock/requirements list

Create production order with reference to planned order

The planner can choose the SKU’s and the quantity for each SKU to be converted to a production order.

Prerequisites

To use this function, you must activate the business function AFS, Manufacturing (/AFS/PP_MAN).

Features

This function has the following features:

Context menu entry in the AFS stock/requirements list

When you select the context menu entry Partially Convert Planned Order  ® Production Order for a planned order in the AFS stock requirement list, the Query Subset/Order Correction screen is displayed for the selected planned order.

      Query Subset/Order Correction

When you activate the check box Partial Conversion on the initial screen for an AFS planned order, the SKU Data This graphic is explained in the accompanying text button appears in the Subsets table on the subsequent screen Query Subset/Order Correction. For an AFS planned order, the Target Quantity and Unit of Measure columns in the table is displayed as read only.

If a partial lot quantity is maintained in the planned order, the query subsets screen displays equally split partial quantities in the Subsets table.

ATP Committed quantity as initial proposal

If some partial quantities were committed by the ATP check for components in an AFS planned order and you partially convert such a planned order, the committed ATP quantity is displayed as the initial proposal for the partial quantity. To enable this feature, you must implement the method ATP_COMMITTED_QTY of the Business Add-In (BAdI) (/AFS/PP_PART_CONV) for Partial Conversion of AFS Planned Order (Enhancement: /AFS/PP_MAN_PL_ORDER).

SKU details for the AFS planned order

You can view the SKU details of the planned order by choosing the toolbar button SKU Details of Planned Order.

SKU details for the partial quantities

You can edit the SKU data for the selected partial quantity on choosing the SKU Data This graphic is explained in the accompanying text button for an entry from the Subsets table.

Generation of partial quantity production orders

When you select the Generate button, temporary production order numbers are created for each row in the Subsets table. You can also view or change each of the generated temporary orders before saving.

While viewing a temporary order, you can carry out the functions like Material Availability Check, Capacity Availability Check,Change SKU Quantities, View Component Overview and Release the Order.

If you modify the SKU quantities in an order and return to the Query Subset/Order Correction screen, the total target quantity and scrap of the order is updated accordingly.

After the temporary production orders are generated, you will be able to edit the SKU data of these orders by choosing SKU Data This graphic is explained in the accompanying text button for a row.

After editing the SKU data in the Query Subset/Order Correction screen, the corresponding SKU data and the total target quantity of the production order is adjusted accordingly.

When you add a new SKU or delete an SKU for a generated temporary order, an information message is displayed to read the production planning master data again within the order.

      Deletion of planned order

If the SKU quantities of all the temporary orders are equal to or greater than the SKU quantities of the planned order, then the planned order is automatically marked for deletion. However, if you reduce the SKU quantities of the partial orders, such that some open SKU quantities remain with the planned order, then you can unselect the checkbox Delete Planned Order to prevent the planned order from deletion.

You can also mark the planned order for deletion irrespective of the quantities of the partial quantity orders.

      Saving the converted production orders

On choosing Save on the Query Subset/Order Correction screen, all the temporary production orders are saved with new order numbers.

If you had selected the indicator Delete Planned Order, the original planned order is deleted after the production orders are saved. However, if you had not selected the indicator Delete Planned Order, the original planned order is updated with the open SKU quantities after the production orders are saved.

When updating the planned order quantities, the Firmingindicator is set for the planned order automatically.

Updating of marker data in the planned order

You must implement the method UPDATE_MARKER of the BAdI for Partial Conversion of AFS Planned Order  to update the marker data in a planned order (if it is not marked for deletion) after partial conversion. If you have not implemented the BAdI method, then the original marker data is retained in the planned order.
