Selection of Materials for Rescheduling

The more materials specified in the selection, the more documents will be selected and will need to be processed. For better performance, we recommend keeping the number of materials per rescheduling run at a minimum.
For which materials should I execute rescheduling?

If a customer rejects order items or order schedule lines, stock becomes free again. By implementing rescheduling, you can now use this requirement to meet other already posted requirements, whether it be that you can then fulfill these requirements in their original requirement quantity or can confirm their requested delivery date as the delivery date.

Stock: 200 pieces, replenishment lead time (RLT): 15 days, order entry date is completely on the 10.01.2001. Stock can therefore be replenished by the 31.01.2001.
Requirement |
Requirements Date |
Delivery Date Confirmed by ATP |
Order 1, Requirement 1: 200 pieces |
15.01.2001 |
15.01.2001 |
Order 2, Requirement 2: 200 pieces |
15.01.2001 |
31.01.2001 (RLT) |
The customer completely rejects order 1, requirement 1. If you now execute rescheduling, requirement 2 of order 2 will be confirmed in the full requirement quantity.
If you were to not execute rescheduling, the freed-up stock would be used to meet the next new requirement that arises.
