Use
AFS developed two lot-sizing procedures that consider both SKU groups for the calculation of lot sizes.
The SKU group procedure 1 corresponds to the lot-sizing procedure after the determination of a demand ratio spread, but it takes place within an SKU group (material master).
You would use the SKU group procedure 1, if you want each created procurement proposal to contain all characteristic values of one or several requirements of a period within an SKU group.
Features
The SKU group procedure 1 determines the lot sizes after calculating the percentage ratio between the total requirements quantity of one or several requirements, for example sales orders and the requirements quantity per grid value within an SKU group.
Based on this ratio, the system creates procurement proposals per SKU group during the MRP. In this case the requirement per procurement proposal depends on the maximum lot size.

You receive two sales orders with a total requirement of 200 pairs of jeans.
You define the following SKU groups:
The system then calculates the ratio between the total requirement of all grid values and the total requirement of each individual grid value of both sales orders in an SKU group. The requirement for each SKU group is then 100 pieces.
The maximum lot size for a procurement proposal is 100 pieces. In this case this is valid for a planned order.
The total requirements quantity of 200 pieces shows you that you require 2 procurement proposals, each with a maximum lot size of 100 pieces.
Based on the determined demand ratio spread per SKU group, the system calculates the required quantity per grid value and creates a planned order per SKU group.

Each planned order contains only one category.
You can specify SKU groups according to your own choice.
If no SKU group is defined, the SKU group procedure 1 considers all the characteristic values of the requirements within one period.
