Function documentation Creation of Production Data Structure and Their Hierarchy Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You use this function to maintain the production data structure (PDS) and the hierarchy in SAP SCM using the production versions created for the AFS material in SAP Apparel and Footwear (SAP AFS).

Integration

Once the master data and hierarchies have been set up in SAP APO, the next step is to have the PDS and hierarchy in SAP APO.

Prerequisites

·         You have maintained the master data in SAP SCM. For more information, see Creation of Products and Location Products and Their Hierarchy.

·         You have created the BOM(s) and the corresponding production versions in SAP AFS.

·         You have PDS in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO), to use the hierarchical planning functionality in supply network planning (SNP).

Activities

This function involves the following activities:

·        The system ensures that the correct mapping for the header and the components in a PDS is created.

It also ensures that the correct hierarchy for the PDS is maintained.

·        You create and activate the integration model to transfer the PDS data to SAP APO for the SAP AFS material.

In SAP SCM, the PDS of the header product is located on the header level of the PDS hierarchy, and the PDS of the sub products is located on the sublevel.

Example

The figure below shows how the SCM system displays an SAP AFS BOM and routing combination as a PDS hierarchy.
