Function documentation Stocks and Batches Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function transfers stock and batch and inspection lots for AFS materials. The stock data available in SAP Apparel and Footwear (AFS) for AFS materials must be present in SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) for individual stock keeping unit (SKU)-specific location products.

The initial and online transfer of stocks, batches and inspection lots for the materials and plant involved in active integration model triggers the transfer to SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO).

Integration

The stock in SAP AFS is maintained by various business scenarios such as goods receipt for a purchase order, goods issued for sales order and others. It is also present in various states such as stock in transit, stock in transfer, stock with vendor, stock with customer, blocked stock, unrestricted use stock and others.

In a way, this functionality is related to the objects that maintain it.

Prerequisites

You have transferred AFS material master data to SAP APO.

You have the variant numbers corresponding to every SKU of AFS material present as different location products in SAP APO, before the stock, batch or inspection lot data is sent for those AFS materials.

You have the customer and vendor master records as locations for all SKU location products in APO, depending upon the type of the stock.

You have maintained the necessary standard Customizing in both the systems.

Features

This function offers the following features:

For AFS materials, stocks, batches and inspection lots are maintained at SKU level in the AFS system.

Every SKU (grid value) is represented by separate location product in SAP SCM.

Hence, the stock and batch numbers that are represented as Versions in SAP APO must be present at location product level, which corresponds to the SKU in SAP AFS.

The functionality provides this transfer by mapping the stock, batch and inspection lots data for every grid value to their corresponding location product in SAP APO.

Activities

This function involves the following activities:

       1.      Create the integration model for the stocks, batches and inspection lots.

To enable the transfer of stocks, batches and inspection lots select the appropriate check box in that integration model.

       2.      Include the material and plant for the batch, stock and inspection lots data that is to be sent in the integration model.

       3.      Activate the integration model.

       4.      In SAP APO, you should observe the results of the transferred data for individual locations products that correspond to the SKU of sent AFS material.

       5.      Once the integration model is successfully activated, perform any processes that affect the stocks, batches and inspection lots for the AFS material in SAP AFS and check the results again in SAP APO (online transfer).

Example

You have an AFS material CAP with following grid values: BL10, BL20, and BL30.

This information is passed to SAP SCM, which then results in individual location products that in turn correspond to every grid value of the AFS material CAP as CAP_BL10, CAP_BL20, and CAP_BL30.

Now, there are different batch numbers associated with each of these grid values in SAP AFS. When this batch data is sent to SAP SCM, the batch number that was attached to an individual grid value is now associated with the location product that in turn corresponds to the grid value. The batch number is then maintained as version numbers as displayed in the figure below.

You have an AFS material CAP with following grid values: BL10 and BL20.

This information is passed to SAP SCM, which then results into individual location products corresponding to every grid value of the AFS material as CAP_BL10 and CAP_BL20 respectively.

In SAP AFS, different type of stocks exists for these grid values. For example, there is storage/batch stock and stock in transit for grid values BL10 and BL20. When this information is passed to SAP SCM, we find that the quantities that were present for grid value in SAP AFS are now present for the corresponding location products as shown in the figure below.
