Integration of Master Data - Products  

Use

The function provides the integration of master data between SAP AFS and the SAP CRM. It covers products (material transfer) during the transfer.

Products need not be manually created in both systems. The AFS materials can be maintained only in the ERP system and then transferred to SAP CRM where products are created for these materials. This results in consistency of data across the systems.

Prerequisites

·         You have created the materials in SAP AFS.

·         You have made the AFS-specific Customizing settings by doing the following:

                            a.      Go to transaction FIBF.

                            b.      Choose Settings ® Identification ® SAP Applications.

                            c.      Under the column APPL, select the checkbox next to IS-AFS.

·         You have created the stock keeping unit (SKU) variants of AFS material which are transferred as separate product variants to SAP CRM. For more information, see AFS Material Variant.

·         You have maintained the standard Customizing for SAP AFS and SAP CRM to transfer data to SAP CRM. The initial load for the master data triggers the transfer to SAP CRM. The process works in initial mode.

Features

The process starts in SAP CRM. After the initial load for the adapter object Material is initiated, the product and its variants are created in SAP CRM. This product and its variants correspond to the material and its SKUs in the ERP system.

The result is that configurable grid product and its variants are created in SAP CRM.

Activities

As a follow-on process, run the report to create the runtime versions for the AFS material in AFS ERP. For more information, see Create Runtime Version.

Then, transfer the runtime version to the SAP CRM system. This is a standard transfer.

Once this is done, then for the product and the SKU variants, the configuration can be done in the product master.
