Components with Mixed Costing

Use

In the SAP standard you can determine the standard price price control S using the mixed costing. Use this option especially if you

use different production processes to produce a material
use different sources when purchasing this material

The costing of the individual alternatives would lead to different production costs or purchase prices. When using the mixed costing, the system determines a mixed price to valuate the material stock in your company.

Features

In the AFS system you can use the mixed costing for the valuation of

standard materials

AFS materials that are not split valuated according to valuation types (valuation category X).

If a BOM is assigned to an AFS material with split valuation according to valuation types, you can cost individual components using the mixed costing. The components with mixed costing are transferred to the costing of the superior material with the determined mixed price that is based on the mixing ratio and the procurement alternative.

Example

An AFS finished product with split valuation (valuation type X) has a raw material with mixed costing as the BOM component. The raw material can be split valuated by origin (valuation category H), for example, and can have a mixed costing based on the associated procurement alternatives.
