In addition to the option of defining value-added services as conditions, you can enter the VAS data manually in the order. This is especially useful for a new customer who requests value-added services. Before you define conditions for such a customer, you probably want to see how business with this customer develops.

The manual entry of VAS data also makes sense for a customer who only requests value-added services occasionally or for one specific delivery, for customers who require differing services for each order, or want identical ticketing/labeling, packing or other services only for part of the items or schedule lines in the order.

You have two options to manually create VAS data in an order:

• Creating ticketing/labeling, packing, or special services data with direct reference to an item or schedule line
• Creating the data using a value-added services proposal

Via Go to ® Overview ® Value-Added Services ® Ticketing/Labeling or Packing or Special Services you can do the following to a previously selected item at anytime:

• create item-related value-added services
• display or remove value-added services that already exist for an item What is displayed depends on whether the system has taken this data from VAS condition records or from a VAS proposal, or if you have entered it manually.

Value-added services that you specify as a VAS proposal are only valid at header level until you assign them to items.

To be valid at item level the properties of the VAS proposal must be copied to the order items. There are different ways to control this to meet your requirements.
