Use

You can use the SAP Global Trade Service (GTS) system to maintain commodity codes.  You can then transfer them to the SAP AFS system to map them to the stock keeping units (SKUs).

You can transfer the AFS materials and their SKUs to SAP GTS as different products. This means that a separate product is created in SAP GTS for each SKU. You can  maintain commodity codes for the transferred products and SKU products in SAP GTS. You can then  retransfer the commodity codes to SAP AFS and they are then mapped to the corresponding SKUs.

Prerequisites

You have implemented the BAdI /SAPSLL/STAWN_RETRANSFER_R3 and method LLNS_RETRANSFER_RFC_R3 in the GTS system in Customizing, by choosing SAP Global Trade Services ® General Settings ®  Business Add-Ins for SAP Global Trade Services ® BAdI: Retransfer of Commodity Codes to Feeder Systems.

To access the SAP GTS 7.1 configuration guide, choose service.sap.com/swdc  ® Software Download  ® SAP Installations and Upgrades  ® Entry by Application Group  ® SAP Application Components  ® SAP Global Trade Services (GTS)  ® SAP GTS 7.1  ® Installation and Upgrade.

For more information on transfer of commodity codes, see SAP Note 966502.

Example

The figure below illustrates the transfer of a material from SAP AFS to SAP GTS:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Here, both the characteristics Land of Origin and Color from SAP AFS are relevant for transfer to SAP GTS. You must set the GTS relevancy  for both of the above characteristics. When you run the material transfer report (/SAPSLL/MATMAS_DISTRIBUTE_R3), the SKU comprising of grid value RED and category value IN is transferred from the SAP AFS system as a separate product with the description T-ShirtREDIN to the SAP GTS system.

The characteristic information can also be transferred along with the products. For more information, see SAP Note 966510 .

Commodity codes are assigned to the different SKU products as well as to the AFS products. After you have run transaction /SAPSLL/SWN_RTR in SAP GTS, the commodity codes are transferred to the worklist table. Afterwards, use transaction /AFS/SLL_SWN_RTR_R3 in SAP AFS to transfer the entries from the worklist table to the standard and SKU tables.

The figure below illustrates how commodity code A assigned to SKU product T-ShirtREDIN is transferred to the SKU table in SAP AFS:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Note

The commodity code assigned to the SAP AFS product is transferred just as it is done for a standard material.
