Manual Scheduling with Drag&Drop You can manually schedule operations and orders in the DS planning board by shifting the relevant graphical objectswith Drag&Drop within a chart or into another chart: Manually shifting a graphical object triggers depending on your settings one of the following scheduling functions in the (target) chart:
Schedule or reschedule
The system schedules or reschedules the shifted operation or order to the desired date/time that was specified with Drag&Drop. You can also reschedule an operation on an alternative resource. An operation or order that was previously deallocated loses the
deallocated
status after being scheduled or rescheduled successfully. For more information, see
Schedule or Reschedule Operations and Orders with Drag&Drop
.
Deallocate
The system deallocates the shifted operation or order. The object is given the status
deallocated
. For more information, see
Deallocation of Operations and Orders
.
No action
No scheduling function is triggered. The affected object remains in its original location and retains its status. It cannot be shifted.
In the planning board profile, for each chart, you specify in the
Drag&Drop Act.
field which scheduling function is triggered in a chart when you shift a graphical object
within
this chart or
into
this chart using Drag&Drop. Depending on the scheduling function triggered, a chart for manual scheduling is a
scheduling chart
, a
deallocation chart,
or a
display chart
.
Recommendation
You should use the decision tables in the planning board profile to define that a scheduling chart displays objects with the status
scheduled
and a deallocation chart displays objects with the status
deallocated
.
The graphical elements for the graphical object that you want to shift with Drag&Drop may not be fixed
You fix a graphical element by setting the
Fix
indicator in the planning board profile for that graphical element.
When using the standard profiles issued by SAP , you cannot shift the following objects with Drag&Drop (the
Fix
indicator is set for the graphical elements of these objects):
Sales orders
Purchase requisitions
Started, partially confirmed, and finally confirmed operations
If you want to reschedule operations that have been started and partially confirmed, you must first interrupt these operations in the detailed scheduling planning board.
The operation or order that you want to schedule should not be fixed in the schedule
You can fix operations with the scheduling function Fix or using Schedule in non-working time .An order is fixed when all operations in the order are fixed. Before you can reschedule a fixed operation, you must first undo the fix for this object.
An operation that you want to schedule must lie within the planning period .
You cannot schedule or reschedule operations that lie outside of the planning period; the schedule in the display period outside of the planning period (preevaluation and post-evaluation period) cannot be changed. In addition, you cannot schedule or reschedule operations in the preevaluation and post-evaluation period. The earliest possible time at which you can schedule or reschedule an operation is today's date plus or minus the offset time.
