Maintain Action Points with iPPE (Shop Floor Production)
In shop floor production with iPPE, action points are linked to the mode of an iPPE activity.
Maintaining action points in iPPE has the following advantages:
The relationships of the iPPE activities automatically determine the sequence of the action points.
The system automatically determines the resource for the action point using the mode of the iPPE activity to which you assigned the action point; that means, the resource does not need to be specified via a parameter.
Action points can also be reporting points for the backflush.
You are using the standard Customizing settings or have entered the following information in the process step Maintain Settings for Action Handler
(transaction /N/SAPAPO/AHC1
): actions, functions, parameters
You have transferred the R/3 reporting points of the backflush via CIF (Core Interface) to the APO system (if necessary).
Caution
CIF transmission is canceled, if the system recognizes that the SAP R/3 reporting points that you are trying to transfer to SAP APO have the same names as reporting points that already exist in SAP APO with corresponding action points. You should take this into account when naming the action points in SAP APO.
In the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose (transaction PPE
).
The iPPE: Display
screen appears.
Switch to change mode.
In the upper left-hand screen area, choose the application Process Structure
and as type Activity
. Select an iPPE object of this type, and choose

The different tab pages display groups of information on the mode of the activity.
Choose the tab page Action Point
.
If the action point is also an R/3 reporting point which has been transferred to the APO system via CIF, then there is already an entry in the field Action Point
. The R/3 reporting point may also be an action point in APO. Specify an action point type, enter the information which is necessary for error handling, and save the data.
If the action point is not also an R/3 reporting point and there is no entry in the Action Point
field, simply create a new action point by entering a name.
In the first table, select one of the actions defined in Customizing using the input help (F4).
If it is possible to parameterize the action, its parameters are displayed in the second table.
Select a parameter for each parameter value.
Repeat this procedure for further actions.
Save your entries.
