  Rescheduling Operations and Orders

Use

You can use this function to do the following in the DS planning board or in the production planning run :

  • Automatically reschedule operations or orders that are already scheduled and are affected by scheduling problems; in other words, without using Drag&Drop

The system only reschedules an operation or an order when it is affected by a scheduling problem, for example, if it is in the past, if relationships are violated or if a resource overload has occurred. The system does not reschedule the operation on a different mode .

  • Schedule deallocated operations or orders again

The system selects the modes for the operations automatically (see mode selection ).

Only operations and orders that start within the planning period can be rescheduled. You define the desired scheduling date in the detailed scheduling strategy . You have the following options:

Desired scheduling dates for rescheduling

Option

Description

Current date

If you choose this option, the system searches for a new scheduling date by starting at the current start or finish date for the operations or order depending on the planning direction.

Earliest date

If you choose this option, the system starts at the earliest possible scheduling date . The earliest possible date is today’s date plus or minus the offset timeor the start of the planning period. You set the offset time in the strategy profile. You can only use this option in combination with the forward planning direction .

When you combine this option with the scheduling mode search for a slot and a scheduling sequence , you can schedule operations at a resource as early as possible and in a particular sequence.

Date entered

If you choose this option, you enter a date in the DS planning board when calling up the Reschedule scheduling function; from this date onwards, the system should search for a scheduling date for the objects.

This option is not relevant for the production planning run.

The earliest start date that the system can use to reschedule the operations or orders, is the later of the following dates:

  • Today’s date plus or minus the offset time

  • Start of the planning period
