 Editing Blocks

Use

You process blocks in resource maintenance or when creating the block basis definitions.

You can move, extend, shorten, or completely delete blocks. You can also insert new blocks.

Deleting blocks:

The length of the block is determined by the end date/time. The system determines the start date/time of the block from the preceding block. When you delete a block, the system increases the subsequent block by the time of the deleted block.

Note Note

If orders in the subsequent block are not compatible, the system will issue a characteristics alert in the deleted block. You must then carry out rescheduling in the DS planning board.

End of the note.

Information

Protect blocks

Select the block and choose Attributes .

You can no longer maintain blocks interactively, but can continue to schedule orders in the blocks.

During rescheduling, you cannot schedule any new orders in a block or remove them from the block.

If an order in a fixed block is exploded again, the system does not schedule the order activities in the fixed block.

Maintain block tolerances

Select the block and choose Attributes .

Set the Block Tolerance indicator.

Enter the block tolerance in seconds.

Choose Further Settings to display the indicator in the overview.

In time-continuous finite planning, you can define tolerances for a block that contains an order in which you can schedule an additional block.

However, you can only schedule the order in the block if the subsequent block still has available capacity in this time period.
