Setting the Check Mode You define the check modein Customizing for SAP APO by choosing .
If you work with the strategies delivered as standard, the check mode is maintained automatically after having transferred your data – as shown in the example below.
If you work with your own strategies/requirements classes, after the data transfer, you still have to define the settings for the fields
Assignment Mode
and
Production Type
manually in the
check mode
created for the R/3 requirements class.
In the
Production Type
field, the value
Standard
is set as standard. With this setting, the system executes the availability check on the basis of
ATP time series.
However, you can also choose the setting
Characteristics
Evaluation
. With this setting, the system executes the availability check at finished product level on the basis of PP/DS. Here, the system uses pegging to assign suitable receipts to the requirements.
Caution
If you want the system to create a fixed pegging relationship between the requirement element and the receipt element, within the CTP check, you must choose the setting
Characteristics Evaluation.
The following disadvantages/limitations are associated with the setting characteristics evaluation:
No check at sub-location level (storage location) or at version level
No limitation of the scope of the checkpossible
Further limitations in note 601813
