Maintain Action Points with iPPE (Repetitive Manufacturing)

Use

In repetitive manufacturing with iPPE the actions points are linked to the elements of the line structure .

Maintaining action points in iPPE has the following advantages:

  • The line structure of iPPE automatically determines the sequence of the action points.

  • The system automatically determines the resource for the action point using the element of the line structure to which you assigned the action point; this means that the resource does not need to be specified via a parameter.

  • Action points can also be reporting points for the backflush .

Prerequisites

  • You are using the standard Customizing settings or - if that is not enough - have entered the following information in the process step Maintain Settings for Action Handler (transaction /N/SAPAPO/AHC1): actions , functions, parameters

  • You have transferred the R/3 reporting points of the backflush via CIF (Core Interface) to the APO System (if necessary).

Caution Caution

CIF transmission is canceled, if the system recognizes that the SAP R/3 reporting points that you are trying to transfer to SAP APO have the same names as reporting points that already exist in SAP APO with corresponding action points. Take this into account when naming the action points in SAP APO.

End of the caution.

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) Next navigation step Integrated Product and Process Engineering (transaction PPE). End of the navigation path

  2. The iPPE: Display screen appears.

  3. Switch to change mode.

  4. In the upper left-hand screen area, choose the application factory layout and, as the type, an element of the iPPE line structure ( line network, line segment, line area, line etc.). Select an iPPE object of this type, and choose to load it.

  5. The iPPE object is loaded in the lower left-hand screen area. The different tab pages display groups of information for the element of the line structure.

  6. Choose the tab page Action Point (Start) .

  7. If the start action point is also an R/3 reporting point which has been transferred to APO via CIF, then there will already be an entry in the field Action Point and another one in the field Type of Reporting Point . The R/3 reporting point may also be an action point in APO. Specify an action point type, enter the information which is necessary for error handling, and save the data.

  8. If the start action point is not also an R/3 reporting point and there is no entry in the field action point , simply create a new action point by entering a name.

  9. In the first table, select one of the actions defined in Customizing using the input help (F4).

  10. If it is possible to parameterize the action, its parameters are displayed in the second table.

  11. Select a parameter for each parameter value.

  12. Repeat this procedure for further actions.

  13. Repeat the entire procedure until you reach the end action point.

  14. Save your entries.
