 Updating Matrices

Use

This procedure describes how to start the planning run for the Rapid Planning Matrix (RPM). You can update existing matrices for all RPM products or for individual RPM products and create new matrices.

Prerequisites

You have used Model Mix Planning or the Plan product function in the Product view to generate planned orders for the RPM product that are assigned to the pegged sales order.

Procedure

  1. Choose Production Planning , then Start of the navigation path Automatic Production Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Rapid Planning Matrix Next navigation step Update Matrices. End of the navigation path

    The initial screen for the planning run appears.

  2. Enter the planning version and specify whether the planning run is executed for all RPM products that have planning file entries by selecting All Marked RPM Products . If you only want to plan specific RPM products, choose Select Products and enter the product number and location.

  3. To define whether or not the system should Generate RPM Time Series after the RPM run choose one of the following settings:

    • If you select Generate Directly , the system creates RPM time series, even if you have excluded this action in the control data of the product.

    • If you select According to Settings , the system behaves according to the setting in the control data.

    • If you select Do Not Generate , the system does not generate any RPM time series.

  4. Check and, if required, change the control parameters for the planning run.

    • Parallel Processing

      When you set the indicator, you define that the planning run is to be processed in parallel. See also: Parallel Processing During the Planning Matrix Run .

    • In the Background

      You can define if the matrices are updated in the background.

  5. To start the planning run, choose .
